Review by hotel critic
The Hamptons Guest House in Umhlanga is a delightful experience for travelers seeking a cozy and convenient stay. During our two visits, we savored the lovely breakfast, where each morning began with a fresh spread that showcased local flavors. Bob, our attentive host, provided stellar recommendations for nearby restaurants, including the charming Olive & Oil just a short walk away. The ambiance of the place felt warm and welcoming, much like visiting family. Although the breakfast could be more organized at times, with delays here and there, it encouraged us to slow down and enjoy the moment—perfect for an adventure-seeker like me, who often rushes off to the next thrill. Within walking distance, we found a variety of eateries, including the inviting Pintxada and the lively Steak and Ale. The proximity to these culinary gems added a layer of convenience to our stay, allowing us to explore Umhlanga’s vibrant dining scene effortlessly. All in all, the Hamptons offered a solid base for our gourmet getaway, with an inviting atmosphere and a memorable culinary journey worth considering for future visits in sunny South Africa.
